A HAWAIIAN SENSE OF PLACE.

From the moment of arrival at Kaua‘i Lagoons, one is struck immediately by the dramatic Hawaiian geographical surroundings. The ocean and the unspoiled mountain peaks. The lush surroundings so emblematic of Kaua‘i. The gentle waters of the Lagoons, with palms, bamboo groves and flowering trees lining the shore.

Just as striking is the utter absence of all other distractions. Through a small miracle of topography and location, while at the Lagoons one sees virtually nothing that isn’t postcard perfect.

The island of Kaua‘i is a unique place with a rich history. Kaua‘i's first Polynesian settlers arrived in approximately fifth century A.D., and were among the privileged few to set eyes on the Hawaiian Islands in its most untouched form.

Hawaiian history and culture will continue to hold an honored place at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Resort, beginning with the names selected for each Lagoon project and neighborhood, and extending throughout the resort experience. Our valued Hawaiian cultural counselor is the well-known kumu hula L. Kehaulani Kekua, Sr., Executive Director of the Kaua‘i Heritage Center.
